In many regions, SLDBK e-bikes may be operated without a motorcycle license, vehicle registration, or mandatory insurance when they meet local e-bike regulations. However, electric bicycle laws vary widely by country, state, and municipality. We always recommend checking your local guidelines, helmet regulations, and age restrictions before riding in your area.

Generally, e-bikes are legally permitted wherever traditional, non-electric bicycles are allowed—including public roads, marked bicycle lanes, paved multi-use paths, and municipal cycling trails. However, access to mountain bike trails, fire roads, or state and national park paths is subject to regional land management rules, which may differ based on e-bike classification.

The SLDBK Leopard is shipped as a fully compliant Class 2 Electric Bicycle. For your reference, standard US classifications are defined as follows:

• Class 1: Pedal-assist only (no throttle), with a maximum motor-assisted speed limit of 20 mph.
• Class 2: Throttle-assisted electric bicycle with motor assistance up to 20 mph.
• Class 3: Pedal-assist only, with motor assistance up to 28 mph.

Since the SLDBK Leopard features both a throttle-on-demand configuration and a factory-set 20 mph limit, it fits perfectly under Class 2 regulations.

SLDBK does not recommend modifying factory speed settings or tampering with the speed governor. Altering speed limits or modifying the controller configuration may reduce your battery range, put excessive stress on the electrical components, and may void your warranty or violate local e-bike safety regulations.

Yes, the high-performance battery pack is completely removable and lockable. This dual-design functionality allows you to either charge the battery directly while it is secured inside the bike frame, or unlock and remove the battery pack to safely charge it indoors, at your office desk, or during transport.

Battery range depends on a variety of real-world variables—including rider weight, terrain gradient, wind resistance, tire pressure, ambient temperature, speed, and selected pedal-assist level.

Under typical riding conditions using pedal assist, our high-capacity battery packs generally deliver an estimated range of 30 to 55 miles (approx. 48–88 km) per charge. Relying solely on the throttle without pedaling will decrease overall range.

Using our factory-supplied smart fast charger, a completely depleted battery will reach 100% capacity in approximately 5 to 7 hours. The smart charger features an automatic cutoff mechanism and LED indicator light, turning from red to green to prevent overcharging once the battery is fully replenished.

The electrical system of every SLDBK e-bike is designed with water-resistant protection to withstand normal riding conditions, including light rain and splashes from wet road surfaces. Features like water-resistant quick-connect wiring harnesses and sealed battery enclosures help protect vital components.

Please note: SLDBK e-bikes are not waterproof. They should never be submerged in water, cleaned with high-pressure washers, or ridden through deep standing water where the motor, controller, or battery housing could become fully flooded.
